MT. KORBU TRAIL PROFILE

This is a rough trail profile of Mt. Korbu based on the readings from my Casio Protrek PRG70T watch in the expedition of 4 hikers from 29 April 2007 to 2 May 2007.

Just wondering, were you wearing the watch when you took the measurements? Body temperature has been known to affect readings, so just wondering how correct the results are. Most watch based altimeter needs about 15min off the wrist before it can take correct readings, along with frequent recalibration.

Yes. I was wearing the watch when hiking. I know that the watch altimeter can never produce an accurate reading. If you look at my hiking log, the actual height at the summit differs around 2%+. Variation on readings are quite normal.

The readings from my watch are just an approximation only. The watch helps me to gauge the estimated time to reach a particular targeted destination in hiking as it provides me with approximate altitude readings.
